Process

The influences of particles, growth and movement have provide me with the process for my paintings. It involves painting small orbs in numerous layers. Once an orb is painted, another is placed in relationship to it and pulls away from it, creating a sub-layer of internal movement within the work. This process is extremely important for me in connecting to my paintings, letting them evolve and begin to develop in time and create a history. Through this technique of building my surfaces a particle and a layer at a time, I can investigate optical mixture and nuances of color.
